The Muskingham Conservancy District granted the Mohican Sailing Club permission to begin construction of the clubhouse on May 22, 1945.
From the Conservancey: “This office has no objection to permitting the Mohican Sailing Club to proceed with the construction of the club house with the understanding that the building will be located on lands lying above spillway elevation and with the further understanding that they proceed at their own risk and that the United States be held harmless from any damages resulting from such construction activities.”’
